Every genuine Nguni cow hide carries markings shaped by nature and reflects the rich cattle-farming heritage of South Africa. Variations in colour, pattern and texture are part of what makes these hides authentic—no two will ever be exactly alike.

Our hides are ethically sourced within South Africa and professionally finished in our own tannery in Dundee, KwaZulu-Natal. This hands-on process allows us to maintain consistent standards while preserving the natural beauty and distinctive character for which Nguni hides are known.

Understanding Our Select Grades

A Superior Grade hides generally have strong hair condition with fewer visible natural markings or imperfections. A Grade hides meet the same careful finishing standards but may show slightly more natural character, including minor branding, healed markings or variations in the hair. These features do not detract from the overall beauty or durability of the hide.

All our hides undergo the same professional tanning and finishing process. The grade reflects the hide’s natural condition rather than a difference in tanning quality.

How Our Hides Are Priced

The price of each hide is determined by its grade together with the rarity and desirability of its natural colour and pattern. Hides with particularly unusual markings or sought-after colour combinations may carry a higher value.
