A Grade Superior Hides are selected for their excellent hair condition, attractive natural patterns and limited visible markings or imperfections.

A Grade Hides offer the same professional tanning and finishing quality but may show slightly more natural character, including subtle branding, healed markings or minor variations in the hair.

Every hide is processed and finished to the same careful standard in our tannery. Its grade refers to its natural condition and visible markings—not the quality of the tanning or workmanship.

Why Prices Differ

Each Select Nguni hide is individually priced according to its grade, as well as the rarity and demand for its particular colour and pattern. A hide with an especially striking pattern, unusual markings or sought-after colour combination may be priced higher than another hide of the same grade.
